Yesterday Andy, Kayoko and I went shopping for our up and coming attempt at Fuji san. For the first time, taking a page out of my brother's book, I bought the correct equipment. A pair of New Balance hiking shoes, a poncho and some super 'right foot' and 'left foot' socks. After this we went to what was suppossed to be a lake for a test hike. It turned out to be a dam- "damn" said Andy. Anyway the disappointment was replaced by ecstatic jubilation upon the discovery of a small unattended car race track. At a 100 Yen a go, we took out little F1 cars and motorbikes, speeding recklessly (3 mph) round the proffesional race track (10metres squared). It's no wonder kids are so happy- all they do is play. And cry. Maybe that's the recipe for happiness- play and cry. I'll give it a go- when no one's looking.
