A diary of my life in Tokyo 2003-2006

Yesterday, Andy and I went for a walk from Northern Kamakura to the beach. We passed many temples, shrines, butterflies, cats, beatles, Zen gardens, talking parrots, mini waterfalls, slum-like towns, blue skies, grey skies, terrace restaurants, surfers, kids who want to be Yakuza, skateboarders, Hawaiian restaurants, and big golden Buddhas. All in all, it was a great little hike! Kamakura has a double personality: the traditional and refined temple areas, nestled amongst rolling hills; and the less ordered and 'cool' beach area, nestled amongst a slum-like town. This makes for a satisfying piece of universe! Just click on the 'Hello Goodbye' penguin on my pics page and see for yourself.
