Cube 2 and Endings
Cube 2 and Endings
I just watched Cube 2. Although it's good, the ending ties it all up very neatly and everything is solved. Cube 1 was better and the ending was open: Mysterious and inconclusive. I wonder if, because of the ending , it was better, or was it just overall a better film?I think it was the ending. But that's not to say that all films should be ambiguous and open ended, Mr. Wackowsiki Brs!!!Sometimes I love films that end neatly, like Shawshank Redemption, aslong as the content of the film can support it, and the ideas contained within are interesting enough to be seen face on. Sometimes, however, I prefer ambiguous endings, like Donnie Darko, where it adds to the mystery and helps to keep the film's themes alive, by forcing the viewer to rethink the film for himself. Ah, so many styles of films, I can't choose my favorite.
Blimey, if you really think seriously about any subject you can spend a lifetime debating....
