Nanzen Temple

Nanzen Temple

My Japanese teacher and I went to Ueno museum yesterday to see some relics usually kept in Nanzen Temple. It was great. My favorites were paintings by Hasegawa Tohaku, which very minimalist and inspired by Chinese painters. We also saw many Katana, samurai swords, and paintings of Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. All in all, it was cool. It gets a bit tiring traipsing around galleries, I find though. After 6 hrs straight, I'm ready to have a lie down. After 10 hrs. I'm ready to die. After 15hrs. I'm dead, and making my way into the afterlife.
Now, it's time for "All or Nothing", a film by that grim English director, I think. The Japanese title is nice though:"Sometimes life is sunny"...
Ooh, just a couple of weeks to go until we hit the slopes in Hakuba!!!Yeah!!!
