New Gas Boiler

New Gas Boiler

Being used to seeing an old creeking gas boiler stuck to the wall of my kitchen, I was pleasantly surprised to find a modern, pristine, contraption there. So, I am dreaming of instantly heated showers and water. At the touch of a button, I envisage the flame of progress. But somehow, this new contraption doesn't quite fit in. It's like putting a crown on a dirty cow. I'm going to have to clean up this little cow, but it'll still be a cow, no? No amount of polishing can make a stone turn into a diamond. I'm exagerating though, being lead astray by flowery poetic expressions. It's not a cow, more a badly bred champion horse. Yey. Yey. I shall make a winner out of him. I shall train him to stand beneath the new gas boiler with pride.
Going to attempt to watch Tokyo Story now, in Japanese.
