Day at Yoski's house with his mum and dad and him
As I left for Musashi Fujisawa, it was bitterly cold. As I drifted out of Ikebukuro, the snowflakes fell, like pieces of dreams. Frozen lumps of rain can be so beautiful. I was transfixed for what must have been 2 seconds-could've been more-then suddenly I felt the pain of the cold again. Frozen rain can be so cold....
Anyway, I reached Yoski's station and was met by his Dad, Ski. He's a very affable man and we went to their house where his mum, Reiko, was busy cooking and welcomed me with open kitchen gloves- she didn't, but for the sake of poetry, she did. She's a very affable lady too. Whenever I go, I am prepared such a wonderful feast, I eat till I can barely see. It's a worthy sacrifice though, I feel:Sight for gastronamic splendour. So his mum had made us somen. This is cold noodles eaten with soy sauce and it's pretty tasty. After having eaten this, and had a chat, Ski and I went off to the driving range to hit some balls. We got a place on the second floor of the driving range and had as many balls as we liked for 1 hr.30 mins. It was great fun. I just whacked one ball after the other, getting into a golf trance. We must have hit 600 balls between us. This works out at about 3 rounds of golf each, which explained my fatigue. When our time was up, we made our way back. Yoski arrived home an hour or too later and we had the dinner to top all dinners- prawn toasts, fried pork in batter, sashimi, rice, potatoes, cheese salad and coke- and then Yoksi and I played Momotaro Dentetsu, a monopoly kind of game, where you travel around Japan, buying property and trying to reach a certain destination faster than your opponent. It's a great game and lots of fun is to be had travelling around Japan.
So that was my day. Lots of fun. Lots of food. Could I ask for anymore?
Live today, for tomorrow never comes.
